Almond Tart
Serves
Ingredients (Dough)
- 110g Benna Unsalted Butter
- 120g of plain flour
- 70g self rising flour
- 70g of brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- Lemon zest
- Lemon juice
Ingredients (Filling)
- 230g ground almonds
- 2 egg whites
- 2 tbsp honey
- Lemon and orange zest
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp almond extract
- 2 tbsps water
Method
- In a food processor or mixer add the flour, sugar , butter , egg yolk, vanilla and lemon zest. Mix until it forms a dough.
- Wrap into plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour .
- In a bowl mix together The ground almonds, egg whites, honey, vanilla and almond extract , orange and lemon zest. Mix until you have a paste consistency.
- Roll out your dough and place it on a tart tray. Add the almond filling and sliced almonds on top. Bake for 25 minutes on 180C.
